And now, we've got classic Zanac on the PS1. Of course, it's not completely perfect to the original NES version, much like with the Puyo Genesis games on Puyo Box. There's different games you can select from: Disk Version, which plays like the Famicom Disk System version, ROM version, which plays like the NES version, Special Version, a new version with tweaked weapons, more enemies, and new stage layouts, and Score Trial, where you can challenge your score on a single stage like in Zanac Neo.

The ability to change the difficulty made the game much easier for me. I was never able to beat the NES version myself, but playing this version on Disk or ROM versions were a blessing since I didn't have to worry about using something like savestates. I felt like those versions were easy (at least for this port), so I decided to go through Special Version, since that game was mostly made to make the game a bit more difficult. But, it was, once again, too easy for me; in fact, even easier to get a high score than in the other two versions. You also get to see special artwork when beating Special Version, which features Randar, the Fairy, and the Zanac. Man, that made my day.

To sum all my Compile gameplay videos up, here are some words: Through our hearts and Randar, Carbuncle, Champ, and that MSX Disc Station mascot I still don't know the name of, Compile's legacy will live on!
