Zelda: Majora's Mask Playthrough #010, Termina Field: The Skull Kid's Story; Road to Southern Swamp
This is video #010 in my Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask playthrough. Back at the start of the First Day, Link takes the north gate out of Termina. In the chilly valley infested with Dodongos, there is a hole to the west in the shadow of a large mushroom-shaped platform. There are two big Dodongos down here. Eek! When they die, they will leave behind a treasure chest containing Piece of Heart #05 (time index 3:55).
After filling his wallet, Link heads around south. There is a bombable boulder by the western exit, but the prize within the grotto underneath cannot be collected yet.
So, Link goes around to the southern exit. There is a treasure chest with a Red Rupee (worth 20 Rupees) in the southeastern part of the field. Near the southern exit (time index 9:25), Tatl will notice a carving of the Skull Kid in a tree, and there will be a cutscene as Tatl reflects on her and her brother Tael finding the Skull Kid. Looks like he started out pretty pitiable, but that doesn't justify what he did.
Next, Link exits south to the Road to the Southern Swamp (time index 12:05). There are some Bad Bats and Chuchus around the tree in thie area. Tingle is hovering in the air near the southern exit. To talk to the green-clad weirdo, Link has to shoot his balloon. Tingly has two maps for sale: Woodfall for 20 Rupees and Snowhead for 40 Rupees. Link should at least get the Woodfall map.
The Swamp Shooting Gallery is in the southeastern part of this area. Link cannot participate in this minigame yet, but he can grab some Rupees from the bushes nearby.
Finally, he exits south to the next area. There is a Heart Piece at the top of the tree on the Road to the Southern Swamp, but Link will get it a little later.
Thanks for watching!
