Zelda: Ocarina of Time MQ Playthrough #078, Spirit Temple, Adult (4/4), Boss: Twinrova
This is video #078 in my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest. Link is nearing the home stretch of the Spirit Temple. On the fourth floor, he has just played Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce mark in front of the locked door and unbarred the door to the left. In the room to the left, one of the crates in the recess to the north conceals a rusty floor switch. Aha! Striking this switch with the Megaton Hammer unbars the western door.
This leads to a sequence of three small rooms. Right away, Link encounters a Green Bubble, a Torch Slug, and a Dinolfos. Still in the northwest room, Link should reflect light onto the sun face on top of the southern archway. This will briefly lower the flames around the southeastern mirror. Link should turn the southeastern mirror so that it will reflect light to the north. Then, he should turn the southwest mirror so that it reflects light to the east. Afterwards, next to the northeastern bars, he can find a hidden treasure chest containing--ta da--a Small Key!
Link backtracks to the nearby locked door. In the room to the north, there is an Iron Knuckle. There are also brick chairs blocking access to a couple of Gold Skulltulas. To kill both of the Skulltulas, Link will have to lure the Iron Knuckle into smashing the northern and western chairs. When the Iron Knuckle is dead, Link can kill Gold Skulltula #99 and Gold Skulltula #100. That's it for the Gold Skulltulas!
Back upstairs in the room, Link finds that the light is being directed north into a a mirror at the northern end of the room. Down in the alcove, he can use the Mirror Shield to reflect this light onto a sun face on the alcove's southern wall. This will cause the platform he is standing on to lower so that Link is right in front of the Desert Colossus's evil face. Reflecting the sunlight onto that face will cause it to crumble, revealing a grate behind. When Link grapples to that grate, it will open, granting him access to the boss door.
In the room beyond, Link will meet the mistresses of the temple, Koume and Kotake. The vile witches sic on him their loyal minion. It is an Iron Knuckle--or is it? When Link knocks the armor off, a familiar figure is revealed. Unfortunately, the witches perform more magic on her before she can escape.
Link continues on to a large room with a large platform surrounded by two smaller platforms. As he draws near, Koume and Kotake attack. The two witches have different elements. Koume's element is fire, and Kotake's element is ice. To take them out, Link will have to reflect one sister's attacks onto the other sister. For instance, when Koume attacks with fire, he should reflect her attack onto Kotake.
When the witches have had enough of this punishment, they will merge into one being, Twinrova. As before, the key is reflecting her magic back at her with the Mirror Shield. She will shoot fire charges from her right wand and ice charges from her left wand. When Link has gathered three charges of the same element on his shield, the shield will blast Twinrova with that element, stunning her long enough for Link to deal some damage with his sword. However, if an opposite element hits Link's shield, it will cancel out the charges already on the shield and possibly hit Link.
After the witches have been defeated, there is an amusing scene as they ... ascend to heaven? Really? Anyway, they leave behind the final Heart Container of the game and a blue portal. We know where that blue portal goes by now!
Thanks for watching!
