Previously, Link explored much of Lanayru Desert and got his Beetle upgraded to the Hook Beetle. He worked his way west to the Temple of Time and then to the northern part of Lanayru Desert. He activated two of the three remote power nodes needed to open the Lanayru Mining Facility. Now, he will activate the last node and then begin exploring the next dungeon.
Lanayru Desert:
Link resumes at the Stone Cache statue in the east of the desert.
Based on dowsing, Link enters the Stone Cache. Like the northern vault in the desert, much of the building's interior contains sinksand inhabited by Ampilus. There are also Yellow Chuchus on the ledges near the entrance.
There is a Timeshift Stone on a platform in the middle of the vault. But there is something Link should do before he activates it. The northern part of the sinksand flows north. Link should defeat the northern Ampilus and ride its shell to the northern ledge. From there, he can climb onto the western ledge, where another Yellow Chuchu lives. He opens the chest there for a random treasure, an Eldin Ore. Then, he pushes down the crate near the chest for a shortcut.
With the shortcut in place, Link now activates the Timeshift Stone. As in the northern vault, Technoblins patrol the lower floor. In the southwest of the lower floor, a chest contains a Blue Rupee, worth 5 Rupees. In the east, a chest contains another Blue Rupee, worth 5 Rupees.
Link uses the Hook Beetle to carry an Ampilus Egg to the power unit on the northern platform. Then, he crosses to the northern platform with his new shortcut. He pushes the Ampilus Egg into the power unit to open the door. There, he finds and activates the third remote power node. This node has a fire symbol.
Behind this remote power node, there are a couple more chests. Link opens them for a Monster Horn and a Blue Rupee, worth 5 Rupees.
Link departs the Stone Cache. He uses the Stone Cache statue to return to the Sky.
The Sky (time 11:45):
Link does a U-turn and dives back down the yellow column of light. He descends to the North Desert statue.
Lanayru Desert (time 12:31):
Link lands at the North Desert statue. After hitting the nearby Timeshift Stone, he goes to the large power generator nearby. Each symbol on the generator corresponds to its remote power node in the desert. Link must rotate each symbol to the power node's location. The green leaf symbol goes to the 9 o'clock position, pointing directly to the left. The red flame symbol goes to the 4 o'clock position, pointing right and down. The lightning bolt symbol goes to the 12 o'clock position, pointing directly up. When all the symbols are in place, a scene takes place.
After the scene, Link approaches the new door into the Lanayru Mining Facility. A brief scene takes place as he goes inside.
Lanayru Mining Facility (time 16:00):
As Link enters, a brief scene introduces the first room of the game's third dungeon. Link saves at the Bird Statue just inside before he begins his exploration.
In the first room, Link encounters Arachas, little scorpion larvae. They are not very threatening. On a pillar, there is a Bomb Flower that he can use to take out enemies, like Electro Spumes, and knock down standing stones. Once he knocks down the northwestern standing stone, he can dash to it and pull down a lever that unlocks the northern door.
There is another lever in the northeast. Pulling it opens a gate in the east. Links open the chest beyond for a Red Rupee, worth 20 Rupees.
Link goes through the northern door to the second room, a crossroads. There are one Staldra to the east and another to the west. There are crates in the northwestern sand. Link can push one against the north-central platform to climb up.
Link goes north to the third room, a massive chamber that he will be going through a few times. There is a Bird Statue just inside. To his east, he must use the Hook Beetle to carry a Bomb and blow up some crates. Then, he can go up the ladder to the east. Look out for some shocking Thunder Keese on the ledge above. Link finds a chest containing a Small Key.
After saving, Link backtracks south to the second room. He goes east through the locked door.
The description is continued in the comments.
