6The era for the undead is almost over. Pack more ammunition and slay them all in this fun shooting game all about zombies; here in Zombie Age 2. There are various missions you need to accomplish in each level. You need to eliminate certain amounts of zombies, reach the needed distance, or survive for a limited period of time. Once you have completed the task, the chopper will rescue your character and head on to the next location. Your character will earn money for each eliminated zombie and you can use that money to get new weapons and other items.

There is something really therapeutic about shooting zombies. I suppose one could get into all sorts of philosophical psychobabble about the inherent desire for violence in all of us modern folks in an attempt to hearken back to the days of savagery, but I'm just going to go with the idea that it's fun to turn your brain off at times. Enter Zombie Age 2, a fun and mindless little shooter where you can go out and blast all of the zombies your little heart desires.
You'd be forgiven for imagining that this game might have some sort of drama or deeper meaning to it. That seems to be the trend these days, to Dark Knight Returns-ify everything and go darker and grittier. This game though, has lovely bright colors, silly little zombies, and doesn't bother with any nonsense resembling a storyline. It's plain and simple keep shooting everything until nothing moves anymore.
As aforementioned, the graphics are fairly cutesy. I suppose that could offset the gory nature of the game, but let's be serious here. Anyone offended by the silly little blood-spatter graphics (which, honestly, look like cartoon ketchup-blood, and I say that in all the best ways) probably has a bit more to be concerned about. For the rest of us though, we can sit back and enjoy the great graphics of this game. All of the characters have their own little animations, no copy-paste stuff here. Well, perhaps a bit of copy paste with the zombies, but that's to be expected. Still, all of the different sprites look great, so you won't be getting bored any time soon.
Combine that with the great audio of the game, and you've got a real gem. The music might be slightly forgettable, perhaps, and in no way is it as iconic as, say, the Mario theme (which is now stuck in your head. You're welcome.) but it does the job well of setting the ambiance of the game. The gunshot sounds are also great, with the boom of the shotgun and the rapid-firing rat-a-tat of smgs, everything comes together really well.
The controls couldn't be simpler. You move around by tapping and dragging on one side of the screen, and you fire and switch weapons with the other. Simple, and nothing to get in the way of your shooting things in the face.
As with the controls, the basic gameplay is just as simple. No deep dark backstories here, just you, your guns, and hordes of undead. Sure, there might be a nominal mission or some such for each level, but in the end, everything boils down to the awesomeness of blasting zombies and various undead apart with all sorts of different weapons. Grisly and violent? Perhaps. Fun and entertaining? You bet your bottom.
