ZooCube Game Sample - GameCube
ZooCube is a strange and unique puzzle game from the small team at "PuzzleKings" in 2002 that is easy to learn but hard to master. Taking place in 3D space, the goal of the game is to round up animals who have escaped throughout the galaxy on your "ZooCube" to return them to the "ark" for preservation.
The player is allowed to rotate the cube in six directions and must match animals on every side to clear levels. This can be achieved by simply moving the cube around or by juggling them around. In the beginning, players can choose from a limited number of levels and have access to only a few animals, but as you progress, you have more animals to rescue, more power-ups to use, higher game speeds, and a bigger space to work with (5 animals per side, six animals per side, and seven animals per side). Skillful playing also allows players to acess bonus stages. In a sense, this game is deeper than most puzzle games just due to the sheer amount of animals, upgrades and score multipliers a player can gain.
The graphics are fairly good for a game of this kind, and the music is decent. Everything is here to make it a quality puzzle game with the exception of the multiplayer mode... while the game does have one, the view of competitive play is scaled down considerably, making it difficult to make out what is what even on a large T.V. Otherwise, it's a fine addition to the GameCube collection. This game was also released for the Game Boy Advance where it was more highly received. This a video of the game in action. Enjoy.
