Extreme for ZX Spectrum 48k

Its 1991, and Probe Software have been pushing there game engine for along time now which pushed the 48k to its limits. At this point you start to wonder if the Developers (Nick and Dave) have got the memo that Sinclair released the spectrum 128k in 1986.

This was released onto the Spectrum +3 Disk which is a 128k machine, and the game is pure 48k, no 128k enhancements what so ever, not even AY title screen music. Also note the Title music is the same used in Trantor (an earlier title).

The game is very short, but lets look at it as a 48k game. The limits of the 48k spectrum must surly be reached now. Great use of color and large sprites. It can be difficult, but its not that difficult once you know where your going. I can only imagine what the team would be able to do with the 128k extra ram and sound capabilities if they had taken the time to look at that system. Larger levels, more/larger gfx and improved sound effects. -
