01 - NOSTALGIC MINECRAFT - Pure Vanilla, No Edits, No Timelapse. Solo Survival Minecraft (Wii U)
Welcome to The Basement, let's play an hour of PURE vanilla solo survival Minecraft on the Wii U! NO EDITS, NO TIME LAPSE, It's as PURE as pure gets!
Seed: 70140799642896276
My Spawn Point: X=150 Y=82 Z=258
In today's episode (Ep 1), Peter spawns in a brand new world in this PURE Vanilla Solo Survival Minecraft campaign on the Wii U. This is a long form, edit free hour (plus!) of Minecraft with no time lapse and no cuts. It's a very nostalgic feel - I'm surprised more quality channels don't try these. Come downstairs and have a seat with me on the couch right here in The Basement - the friendliest place on YouTube!

Right off the bat we take a look around, punch some trees (Oak), mark our spawn point, and begin the scramble to survive. We make our first crafting table, craft our first tool (a wooden axe), and chop some more trees. Coal isn't visible on the surface in the first few minutes, so we talk about how to make charcoal (which works just as well as coal) if you can't find coal with only some wood, some planks, and 9 pieces of cobblestone (to make a furnace).
We make our first pickaxe of the playthru (it's wooden), and find our first home: a hide-y hole! Once inside, we make our very first furnace, and some torches. Then it's time for an upgrade: a stone pickaxe! We'll also need a stone shovel, so we make one of those.
We venture outside again and set a torch on our spawn point, and then quickly get inside for the FIRST NIGHT. Darkness falls and monsters may be out and about, we hole up in our cozy safe cave and plan out what to do next.
Since we'll be digging down into the depths of Minecraft while we wait for night to pass, we prepare for battle! Watch as we make our first sword (a stone one - wooden ones are a waste) and cook up the few pieces of meat we were able to find during daylight.
We dig down a little ways before we find our first cave system - exciting! A little while later we find our first naturally ocurring coal (finally!), and then ANOTHER cave! Soon we reach our deepest level yet: Y=50 (ooh, fancy!), and shortly thereafter we find an actual BIG cave system that doesn't open to the outside (unlike the others we found earlier).
When daylight breaks we waste no time before getting some seeds planted so that we can create a food source (bread) and use the wheat to lure other sources of food (and leather and wool) to our home base. We then go find ourselves a cow, and since we can't lure him, we kill him and take his sweet, sweet beef. We find a few sheep and cows (we see a BROWN sheep!), and manage to pen in a sheep near our home for future shearing and breeding.
Eventually we obtain the necessary wool for making our first bed, which we do, and later we prepare for and venture into the BIG CAVE. It's very exciting!
As we're caving we find a few interesting things, including our first iron (finally! hooray!) and our very first lava of the playthrough.
After our underground adventure, we obtain another sheep and successfully breed them and appreciate just how darn cute the baby sheep is.
We make it through this first episode with no deaths, but that won't last the entire series!
