With the number of strange things we uncover every day, we think it's high time the topnotch dictionaries made the word "earth" synonymous to "mystery." But while you're thinking the possibility of that ever happening, let's quickly look at ten of the strangest things ever found.
Be advised though, most of the things in this video caught even the bravest and smartest mind unaware, making them shiver a little. At the same time, some seek to raise a question about whether there are long-lost civilisations smarter than we are today.

Number 10: The Peter-Pan Infant Mummies
Back in 2010, a building manager named Gloria Gomez came across three large chests while searching the basement of an apartment located very close to the MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. The trunks appeared as if they contained valuable stuff locked up for decades. So, she started opening them one by one.
The first two boxes were empty. But in the third, Gomez found a bag that contained a shiny crystal bowl, an old newspaper and a copy of the peter pan novel, kept alongside two remains of mummified babies. One of whom was a newborn and the other premature, as lamented by the investigators.
After probing further, they found a Peter Pan Woodland Club membership certificate which according to the name belonged to a woman called Jean M. Barrie and the reports revealed that she owned the babies. But the "why" and "how" the infants were wrapped in a box that contains a Peter Pan storybook owned by a woman whose initials rhymed with the author still lingers as she had died long before the discovery.

Number 9: The Merrylin Cryptid Collection
Only a handful of people from around the world would think twice about the reality of supernatural creatures like fairies, werewolves and vampires as many of us believe they're scary stories told to fuel our fantasy. But with the discovery made by some workers during the construction of a suburban block in 2006, you might want to start thinking whether these stories were actually true.
At some point in their bulldozing activities, those workers encountered an old basement where they uncovered several boxes that were used by a wealthy British naturalist called Theodore Merrilyn. When they opened them, they found several mummified remains of creatures that looked like vampires, mermaids and other creatures that couldn't even fit an accurate description because they're yet to be discovered by science. And if they did, they probably would be discarded right away.
But these surreal discoveries have since become a subject of debate among naturalists all over the world. And whether these animals were indeed real or they're just some old-school elaborate make-beliefs like the ones we see in fantasies, we're yet to find out.
Number 8: The Lycurgus cup
Ancient Romans have continued to prove to humanity that they're one of the best civilisations that have ever lived. And with the discovery of the Lycurgus cup in the ‘50s, you might be left with no choice but to accept that fact. Because when you light up the 1600-year-old glass chalice from the front, it glows with a peaceful jade-green. But if you try it from behind, you'll be graced with a heavenly ray of blood-red light.
This strange but unique property of the cup, whose exterior design suggests royalty, left the world of science for many decades in perplexity until the late '90s when the mystery was finally solved. And the result from the analysis that took myriads of artificial intelligence was even more incredible as it revealed that the ancient Romans infused tiny grains of gold and silver into the glass to achieve the effects that we see. A technique which, according to the experts, is the core process used in an aspect of modern nanotechnology that we're only just beginning to understand. Strange, right?
