Number 10: Bettie Bee
Bettie Bee was the name of a baby kitten born into a litter of 3 in South Africa, 2017. Unlike her siblings, Bettie Bee had a unique mutation that made her very different - she was born with two faces. Not only that, but she also had two mouths, two noses with exceptional three eyes. But while that might sound a bit outlandish, this condition is quite common, and it’s called craniofacial duplication, similar to conjoined twins in humans. It’s a pretty cute condition, but it’s more of a curse than beauty as many animals with similar deformities suffer very great pain. In her case, Bettie Bee found it very difficult to nurse on her own. As such, she was at risk of starving to death. Thankfully, she had a very kind owner who had the feel to source for help with a local veterinarian who saved Bettie by tube-feeding her. At first, this little critter was thriving, and her story soon became a viral sensation. But much like most animals of her kind, she didn’t live for very long.

Number 9: Squirt and Crush
This tiny little turtle was found on a beach in South Carolina sometime in 2019 when it was just a hatchling. Named Squirt and Crush, this amazing cutie is one marine animal to behold. As you can see, it has two heads. When it was first spotted, it was having a tough time keeping up with its friends and families as they made their way to the sea. At the time, “Squirt and Crush” was very much alive and full of energy, even though it couldn’t even swim appropriately because of its deformed shell.
Another major problem was that each of the heads controlled separate flippers, which meant their brains are independent of one another. For a species with many predators like sharks and birds, that’s enough to spell a great deal of trouble. But then again, “Squirt and Crush” is a loggerhead turtle with less than 1% chance of surviving to adulthood in the wild. So, it’s a good thing it was discovered; at least that should help even the odds.

Number 8: The Two-headed Bearded Dragons
While many people would run at the mere sight of a two-headed animal, some people actually adore them. Case in point: meet Todd Ray, the man with the largest collection of two-headed animals on the entire planet, says the Guinness Book of World Record. We imagine how many they would be. But of all his bizarre yet beautiful collection, a duo of two-headed dragons seemed to be his golden trophy because it’s very much rarer to see one of these up close. And somehow, Ray’s lucky enough to be a proud owner of two. According to him, he acquired the first specimen he named Poncho and Lefty sometime in 2010. The second one he bought in 2012 from a man in China with a little above $5,000. He lovingly named them Jeckyl and Hyde. But even though they share the same body, the duo is quite different. Jekyll is a little dominant over his conjoined twin brother Hyde. He does all the eating while Hyde only gets to drink water. But the two are doing fine all the same.

Number 7: Double Dave
Double Dave, the two-headed timber rattlesnake, was discovered somewhere around the Pine Barrens of New Jersey back in September of 2019. He was found by two herpetologists named Dave Schneider and his brother, Dave Duckett, during a forest survey in the area. The moment they spotted the animal, they knew he was unique. He has two-fully developed heads with 4 eyes and two flickers, the type of worst nightmares. But then, two-headed snakes are nowhere near the blood-sucking beasts depicted in mythology. Nor are they the perfect killers or double-killers they’re meant to be. Instead, their double independent heads fill their lives with staggering battles of will.
