For every retro-style indie darling like Shovel Knight or Rogue Legacy, there are several dozen equally good (or better) titles that go mostly unnoticed. In this video, we present a 100 of the higher quality ones you may not have known about...

Things to note:
1. The focus has been mainly on titles which feature retro-ish art (e.g. 8-bit style pixels) and music for that more pseudo-retro feel.
2. While all of these clips were taken from PC (Windows), most of them are also available on other "modern" platforms like the PS4/Switch
3. 99 of them have a Steam rating of "very positive" or "overwhelmingly positive" - usually a sign of a very good game (only one is not available on Steam - "The Curse of Issyos" which is actually freeware)
4. Many of them feature multiplayer/couch play!
