#1011 Dead or Alive Dimensions (3DS) Bosses (4/6): Omega playthrough.
A playthrough of the boss Omega in Tecmo/Team Ninja’s Dead or Alive Dimensions.
A few days, I reached 2300 subscribers. Thanks so much to viewers, old and new alike, who've started to watch recently or continue to watch and support my stuff; I hugely appreciate it.
It’s Omega, and he’s not shit this time. He’s also been redesigned a bit, like many of the other characters, and I’d certainly say it’s better over his rather generic design we saw in DOA3.
Omega is a slower, heavier-hitting character here. It’s a good moveset, with a number of easy to utilise critical hits (stun attacks), and I quite enjoyed it. The only thing is though, despite overhauling Omega’s moveset they still kept many of his previous abilities, and they understandably overshadow his other moves. He retains all three of his projectile moves from DOA3 in some form, with a delayed but powerful fireball attack, a low-hitting wind attack which even hits an opponent on the ground, and a multi-hit electricity attack. Which can all be used. At will. With no limitations or penalties for doing so. Yeah, they weren’t aiming for balance with this game, and having no less than three innate projectiles makes Omega something of a force to be reckoned with already. Although he can’t normally use his double-bladed lightsaber, Omega can still unleash some Darth Maul-style beatdowns with a stance-move which can lead into powerful leaping strikes, charging strikes, and even a rather silly looking blade-twirl attack which can hit the opponent numerous times over. Although they have some delay, these attacks still come out quickly and hit hard on impact, meaning that Omega is pretty damn strong without being quite as broken as he was in DOA3. This was a really cool way to interpret his moveset, changing up his attacks into more feasible stances and special moves, and I think they did a great job replicating much of his trademark moves in this moveset, while also updating to be something which was legitimately competitive and less simplistic. As a boss, he’s probably the biggest testament as to the sheer amount of work which went into this game.
Up next, another video on the bad bitch of DOA4.
