Making his playable debut, Shiden is the father of Hayate and Kasumi, husband of their mother Ayame and is the younger brother of Raidou, and is the former leader of their ninja clan, the Mugen Tenshin
From what I’ve read on the DOA wiki, the bosses in this game are actually apparently toned down when you play as them; for instance, Boss Shiden has the ability to teleport which he doesn’t have when played as. Which means there are flags in this title, apparently. His moveset is also a reduced version of Hayate’s, which makes sense, but he also gains some combos from Hayate’s DOA3 appearance. Gameplay-wise he’s really nothing too special, but as one of the most pivotal characters of the entire series it was awesome for him to actually get a pivotal debut, and in a dream match title no less. More a bonus character than anything else, but certainly an appreciated one.
That does it for the bosses. A great, definitive selection which would make any boss enthusiast happy. Speaking of pivotal characters though, well, we’re not quite done with those yet.
