It's a beautiful thing to own a pool, especially during summer when the weather is intolerable. However, it goes with many responsibilities like sifting out the insects, leaves, and in extreme cases, protecting it from wild animals and all shades of intruders. So hey, hanging out with friends and family in a pool is cool until a car veers off its route and crashes in your presence.
This is not to scare you, but countless swimming pool owners have seen the weirdest thing ever in their space. The question is, when will you see yours? Without further ado, we look at fifteen bizarre things people found in a pool.
15. A cow
Footage released in 2014 showed a cow moo-ing its way into a swimming pool filled with kids. Yikes! It is not the first time animals like this got stuck in a pool. Maria Bella, an aquatic facility operator, said water is as attractive to children as it is to these animals. The trouble with having them is that they can't find their way out since pools don't have a sloping entry. Since they are not trained to walk on steps, they remain put until help comes their way. The cow was eventually captured but had there been a fence; the calamity would have been prevented. It's game over for the children as the water is already contaminated. To safeguard your pool, your wall should be at least 4 feet high, and the vertical barriers should be 4 inches apart.

14. A car seeking underground parking
Truth be told, some underground car parks look exactly like modern-day pools. Well, this car wasn't looking for a place to park neither did it consider the pool as a parking lot. There was an accident, but thankfully, no life was lost. At 4 am, a teenage boy and his friend lost control of their car, and it smashed a wooden fence then dived into Leighanna Brownlee's pool. She woke up abruptly after she felt the water tide hit the back of her house. When she moved outside to see what made the sound, she found that her pool was contaminated with oil and a car stuck in it. The teenager apologized profusely, but the woman didn't bother about her pool but his safety.

13. A human trespasser
As if it is not enough to have unwanted animals in your pool, humans are the worst trespassers ever. It is both scary and annoying. One day, a Canadian woman returned to her home only to find an 18-year-old boy on her property. As that wasn't enough shortcoming, the dude was naked and having a comfortable swim. He didn't end there – he helped himself with a snack and shower! When she spotted him, he fled into the woods. The police tracked some traces he left behind in the tall grass and concluded that alcohol and drugs were a motivating factor. You should raise an alarm if you see any nude guy or a stranger in your home – your life could be in danger.

12. A hot-tub-loving bear
Wild animals can leave the woods to visit you anytime, especially if you have what they want. Tony and Denise Diering were having a couple-time at home when they looked out of the back door and saw a giant black bear in the pool. They didn't freak out or scream for help; instead, they brought out their phones to record the moment. Apparently, the water in the woods was too cold for the animal, and so it found its way to the Diering's warm swimming pool. It stayed there for about 15 minutes before it got out and returned home. The couple laughed it over but hoped never to see the animal ever again because of safety concerns. Did the beer return? Oh Yes, it did, but for a different purpose.

11. Pee
Would you gulp a glass of your pee or maybe a friend's? Hell no! I get that feeling. Did you know that one in five people have peed in the pool? This figure doesn't even include children who do it frequently without remorse. An Olympic sized swimming pool has about 830,000 litres of water, and a recent study shows that around 75 litres is pure pee. Disgusting! So, do you remember the last time you swam? Did some water get into your mouth? You probably thought there was no biggie; after all, it's just water. If you have experienced itchy eyes while swimming, know that there has been a chemical reaction between chlorine and urine. Take heart and seek medical attention.
