A superb remake of a 2D classic ! The first Prince of Persia was created by Jordan Mechner in 1989 and is considered to be one of the most influential platformers ever. It was first released on Apple PC, and was ported to the NES and other home consoles. An improved sequel was released in 1993 on PC. However, the series' first 3D entry in 1999 was a complete disaster.. Thankfully, in 2003, Prince of Persia finally got the 3D upgarde it deserved, as Ubisoft totally nailed it, with the help of Jordan Mechner !
This remake got a lot of well deserved praise ! The platforming was awesome (very similar to Tomb Raider) but the sword fighting was an issue for me, as some fights take too long, having to deal with many waves of enemies, before being able to move on.. Thankfully, the ability to reverse time is a godsend, as dying is quite frequent ! Oh and the music is epic too !
