Reproduction steps:
— Obtain Side Fighters (Mission 4 or 13)
— Hit yourself twice, so the Side Fighters are at 1 HP left
— Just before the "Commencing Attack" mode change in levels that's NOT an Ayako, Ganryo, or Bunshu, kill your Side Fighters.
— If done correctly, when you descend to the surface, the Side Fighters will remain with you, its HP will underflow to either 127 or 255.

If you perform this glitch before picking up the second Side Fighters at Mission 13, make sure you do NOT pick up the second set or the HP will be reset to 3 and you will need to re-do the glitch again.
