1969 Barracuda 493 Stroker Build - Wiring Completed and Big Moparty Update (Ep. 5)
Welcome to Episode 5 of the Big Block Barracuda Blitz, my countdown to getting this 1969 Plymouth Barracuda race ready.
While I was out last week, Rene at Rene’s Auto Electric in Chula Vista CA knocked out a huge list of electrical work. In this episode, I go over everything he completed, including:
1. Engine wiring and MSD ignition setup
2. Haywire 4 relay drag fuse box installation
3. Traditional hot rod wiring for the lights, horn, and street driving essentials using Haywire’s Pro T kit
I also share some unexpected news. While waiting for a tow truck to bring the Barracuda home, the front end was backed into, leaving me with some unexpected bodywork ahead. And the biggest news of all — I will not be attending Holley’s Moparty 2025 this year. With my wife currently out of work, I simply cannot justify the large expense of traveling to Kentucky. Family comes first.
That said, this project is far from slowing down. The Barracuda will now have more time for testing and tuning, and I still plan to be at Duct Tape Drags in Tucson AZ. The road ahead may have changed, but the build continues with the same goal — turning this classic Mopar into a drag ready monster.
If you are a muscle car enthusiast or Mopar fan, subscribe for weekly updates on this epic build. There is still plenty of fabrication, tuning, and testing to come as this Barracuda gets closer to the strip.
