1996: Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol.2 PS1 \\ Knightmare, Super Cobra, Gradius 2, & more!
0Trying all of the games in "Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol.2" for PS1, in the emulator DuckStation in Windows, purchased and downloaded from the Japanese PS Store on my jailbroken PS3.

I'm not sure how long Super Cobra is! The arcade game is 11 stages, according to GameFAQs. The MSX game MAY be a little too easy--I got to stage 10 on like my 2nd try, without save-scumming! = oo But I guess I'll have to maybe scum a bit to find out how long it is, because I can't seem to find a full playthrough video or anything--heck I can't even find any that get to stage 10!
Found out after recording that Gradius 2 ("Nemesis 2" in Europe) is not Gradius II ("Vulkan Venture" in Europe), the arcade game, but its own, separate game! And Yie Ar Kung-Fu II is also not an arcade game: it was made for various 8-bit computers.
Unlike arcade Gradius I ("Nemesis" in Europe for some versions) and II, the default movement speed in Gradius 2 (and the version of Gradius (1) in MSX Collection Vol.1) is totally playable, so it doesn't feel as bad to die (and lose your powerups) as it does in certain other versions of Gradius games; and you have unlimited continues, so I COULD save scum the tough bits in this and let myself take some deaths in the less troublesome bits, so I don't build up overpowering power levels--in other words, these MSX ones are TOTALLY save-scummable so I'm probably gonna have to scuzz through them sometime--although the graphics in 2 are way better.

(Whoa hey and the Famicom version of Gradius II (different game than 2) has playable default speed and infinite continues and looks pretty nice--dang now I gotta get that 2. I mean, too!)

Konami's Golf - no idea how far the clubs are gonna hit, hard to aim : P
Konami's Billiards - hard to aim, funky playing against just uh missing ^ _^
Hyper Sports 3 - mash mash mash oh
Athletic Land - charming but then just remixing same obstacles of radically varying challenge level
Magical Tree - urgh
Yie Ar Kung-Fu II - now it's a game about dodging flying stuff ; PPP
Knightmare - oh yeah this fantasy shmup rules! Gonna have to play through this; oh hey and it's the first in the trilogy of which the next game is The Maze of Galious, credited as the inspiration for Castlevania II
TwinBee - only one bell to juggle at a time, I guess that's a plus over other TwinBees
