This boss has a semi-fixed pattern.

Turn 1: Ether Flare (MYS nuke) or Shooting Star (SPI nuke that inflicts PAR)
Turn 2-4: Random moves
Turn 5: Strengthen Jutsu (buffs MAG to 100%)

It basically repeats this until the fight is over. According to the Wiki, Strengthen Jutsu's buffs can acutally go past 100%, which is very funny, not that I allow Cosmic to actually get that far.

Cosmic's random moves are:
-Magical Light (single target MYS spell)
-Ballistic Light (single target MYS spell)
-Piercing Light (row target MYS spell)
-Mirror Illusion (MYS AOE that debuffs ATK, MAG, DEF and MND)
-Dual Colorful Light (row target NON-E spell)

All of these attacks are standard EXCEPT for Dual Colorful Light, which just annihilates whoever is in the first two slots.

This basically ends up being a glorified damage race, since Strengthen Jutsu is super dangerous and even with 0 debuff resistance, it's hard to remove the SJ buff with debuffs alone (Tenshi is probably your best bet, but that's not a consistent strategy).

Cosmic is very resistant to SPI and MYS and has high MND. It has low DEF, which isn't surprising, but it's also super weak to NTR, which is why Suwako can destroy this boss in about 3 shots.

Character Build:

Rinnosuke: I didn't really get to talk about him in his boss video, but LOT1 Rinnosuke is a completely different character to LOT2 Rinnosuke. Not really a surprise since Rinno is the penultimate story boss in LOT1 while he's a starter character in LOT2. Stats wise, he's supposed to be pretty flexible; you can build him as a physical attacker or as a tank. The main thing that sets him apart from his sequel version is his hyper buff, World Shaking Military Rule.

Rinnosuke basically sacrifices all his TP to buff all front character's attack and defenses to 100%. Because it reduces his TP to 0, Rinnosuke cannot be removed from the front once used. It can be quite handy in bosses (for emergencies, or for setups to kill bosses quickly) and for grinding on difficult floors (like 20F, which has tough encounters but with very neat EXP and drops).

I don't really like using Rinnosuke, but I'll probably have to make use for him. It's not even for the hyper buff, though it is very convenient in some fights. No, the problem with my party is not having enough pure DEF tanks. Certain character build decisions are coming back to haunt me, like splitting bonuses between HP and DEF for Remilia and Meiling, and going for full HP build Eirin and Sakuya.

I actually really like HP build Sakuya, but it was a bad idea to not build more characters around DEF. I'll have to go with pure DEF Rinnosuke, just to have more options. I'm also transitioning other characters, like Remilia (who has been pure DEF since level 74) and Eirin (who is having all bonuses past level 100 go into DEF).
