Not sure if the video gives this impression, but this was certainly my most difficult SotC challenge thus far. If I had to give an attempt count, I'd say it took around 500 tries to get this one success to happen. There's just so much stuff to learn about Valus' behavior, physics and the moves you need to master to quickly get from place to place without falling off in the process. But that exact complexity also makes Valus more interesting than many of the other fights since there's a lot of cool ways to move around and a lot of unexpected things can happen, so I definitely enjoyed this challenge a lot.

Now at first I wanted to go full No Fur Climbing, but I wasn't able to figure out a way to get back to any useful surface on Valus from the arm sigil by just releasing the fur grab. In the end I came up with a compromise that basically just gives me a reasonable way to get off that sigil without falling, while basically keeping the spirit of No Fur Climbing intact.

The Time Attack aspect of this was also really interesting. For once, the goal time was actually a major part of the challenge as you really don't have room for any big mistakes. There were a few times within the last 100 or so attempts when I succeeded but was less than 10 seconds late, so perfecting your moves is kind of essential in this fight.

The idea here was to defeat the colossus Sigil Alternation + No Sigilless Fur Climbing style, on Hard mode, under the Time Attack goal, and in Mirrored World.

Sigil Alternation means that you can't do damage to a sigil two times a row, and must instead alternate between them all the way to the end. If you've destroyed all but one sigil but you can't finish it in one blow, you basically lose. This modifier can't apply if a colossus has only one sigil from the start.

No Sigilless Fur Climbing means you can't climb on or jump from normal fur, while grabbing on and letting go of it is allowed. However, when at least a part of Wander's body is on a sigil spot, climbing on or jumping from that spot is also allowed.
