So, this is quite an extensive video. Lots of stuff to talk about! Sorry for the delay for last week's/this video, this was due to both exams IRL and personally not being too decisive of the subject of this video. In the end, I just went with this: a 1x12 bidirectional horizontal pusher, which has wiring on both the top and bottom side, as suggested by UltimateRedstone. This basically pushes a surface into somewhere horizontally, with 2-deep teeth and is able to leave again itself while leaving the surface behind. This didn't really require much advanced technology, but could be considered a stepping stone to two more advanced problems, or at least an introduction.

The first one being dungeon pushing, useful for dungeon generation manipulation, a pretty obscure and in my opinion possibly the most advanced technology in survtech, which unfortunately is still very undeveloped. This involves pushing in a 7x7, 7x9, 9x7 or 9x9 surface in from some horizontal direction in such a way that it is not affected by any surfaces already placed directly below the one you're just pushing in. The flying machine itself also has to be bidirectional of course, as in, you need to be able to retract everything but the blocks you pushed in afterwards.

The second open problem I had was suggested by Enemysfriend22. On Conspiracy SMP, a technical survival server he plays on, they want their guardian farm to have an automatic switch to toggle in between kill and "XP" (in reality rare drops) mode. In other words, there are guardians dropping down in a 58x58 square, and they want to be able to choose whether to have them fall to their deaths and have their loot picked up by hopper minecarts or be caught by water somewhere else so they can be (optionally weakened and) one-hit killed later on for rare drops. They tried around with it for a bit and their final solution was pushing in a big slope on which you could pour water to flush all guardians out without hurting them.

So yeah, if you can find some solution to one of these problems, feel free to post/suggest them. This is kind of a crowd-sourcing experiment, let's see how this goes.
