I plugged a 20 year old PCI expansion card into my Windows 10 PC, and IT JUST WORKED! Plug and play!

OK, maybe the card is slightly younger than 20 years old, but it was designed for a 20 year old operating system (Windows XP), and that's the latest one listed on the box, so I can't be far off.

I had a TV tuner card I tried to get working recently, and that was a total unmitigated failure. But this USB 2.0 PCI expansion card? I didn't need to find drivers, I didn't need to argue with Windows in Device Manager, I literally just put the card into the motherboard, and it just worked!

Why can't all expansion cards be like this?!
