61If you're interested in a new truck, you're probably looking for a model that can handle just about any job without sacrificing comfort or style. In our latest video, we checked out the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado to see what it's like after a 3-year hiatus.
Does the Colorado keep up with other midsize pickup rivals such as the Nissan Frontier and the Toyota Tacoma? The answer is yes, but the Colorado does a lot more than just keep up. Starting from around $21,000, the Colorado offers a lot of benefits, including two excellent powertrain choices: a fuel-efficient 2.5-liter 4-cylinder or a more muscular 3.6-liter V6.
Available in extended or crew-cab varieties, the Colorado comes in four trim levels, including a base-level Work Truck model, the upscale LT trim and the off-road Z71 variety. Our test car was a Colorado Z71, which has a useful 4-door crew cab and V6 power.
Outside, the Colorado has been dramatically redesigned compared to the old model. On the road, handling is very responsive and almost carlike. Inside, the interior boasts a lot of high-end materials and soft-touch surfaces, which make the Colorado's cabin feel downright luxurious compared to rival pickups. There's also a new, larger center stack designed to accommodate the truck's newly available 8-inch color touchscreen.
In addition to a surprisingly wide range of standard and optional features for a pickup, the Colorado boasts some impressive safety features, such as standard side-curtain airbags and anti-lock brakes, along with available lane-departure warning and forward-collision alert.
We like the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado a lot -- so much that we'd recommend even the most loyal Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier shoppers to take a look at it before buying anything else.
