Impressive Styling
The Dodge Challenger has always been known for its unique look, and the current version holds true to its classic design. The quad projector LED headlights and the iconic split grill and taillights really give the Challenger an edge in the styling department. The HEMI trim levels boast a pretty functional hood intake, and the optional racing stripe exterior package is certainly well worth it.
Interior Features
There are 16 interiors to choose from. Of course, the retro-themed option keeps the Challenger's ancestry in mind. A leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 6-speaker audio system and a 6-way power driver seat all come standard. Additions can include a 8.4-inch Uconnect display screen with USB/iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as heated front seats.
Upgraded Transmission and Miles Per Gallon
Dodge updated the 6-speed automatic transmission on base models to an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. It now returns 19 miles per gallon in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, which is an impressive 9 percent improvement over previous versions. For the more powerful V8 models, such as the R/T and SRT, there is an optional 6-speed manual transmission, which delivers a satisfactory 19 mpg combined.
Interior Space
Generally, interior room is fairly limited among muscle cars, as they are built for performance. The Challenger, however, is surprisingly practical. It can readily seat five adults without a problem, and the trunk has a class-leading 16.2 cu ft. of space for storage.
Solid Engine Performance
Our base SXT model has a healthy 3.6-liter V6 rated at 305 horsepower. And when you take a step up to the R/T, the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and new Scat Pack model's 485 hp will most definitely beat out the competition. If you're looking for unbelievable performance, the SRT Hellcat pumps out a jaw-dropping 707 hp and does 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 4 seconds.
