7The results of the interrogation of the apparent enemy Commander are in from Research, and they've revealed ways where, potentially, humans might begin to harness the power known as 'Psionics' and turn yet another alien advantage into something we can use to fight them off. It won't necessarily happen overnight, and we're going to need to see the real effects of this in action... but this is still a pivotal moment of the war.
While that, and a variety of other projects and works, are cooking at base, the troops on the ground are called in for another special request from the Council. A UN official and his convoy was waylaid by the aliens, and apparently the enemy's intent is to assassinate this man specifically, so the Council's sending us in to stop that.
