9Hell's come to Earth, and failure here will mean more than civilian and X-COM casualties on the ground. If we can't stop this Terror Attack before it spirals out of control, it could mean the immediate withdrawal of Brazil from the Council of Nations, and two months into the Project, we can't afford to start bleeding international support.
Chrysalids were in the original, and still are now, despite a few things, my worst fucking nightmare. They're pretty much everyone's worst fucking nightmare. And they get the free movement turn, like every other alien unit... but unlike, say, a clump of Sectoids, these terror units use every bit of free movement to charge straight for your guys.
(Which, incidentally, can often leave them set up and in the open for some nice shots on your turn. Silver lining in the clouds.)
