Taking some of the new or long-lost returning characters in Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 for a spin--this is the 240p version, with optional arranged soundtrack playing, from the Garou Densetsu Battle Archives 2 collection on PS2 ("Fatal Fury" is named "Garou Densetsu"--meaning "legend of the hungry wolf"--in Japan; the collection is "Fatal Fury Battle Archives Volume 2" in the States):
0:00 - me blabbing about the game
5:38 - quick Blue Mary mirror (& Blue Mary's Blues)
8:18 - Rick intro, options, How to Play
13:28 - Li Xiangfei
24:34 - Rick Strowd
33:34 - Wolfgang Krauser
47:17 - Tung Fu Rue
57:02 - Laurence Blood
1:07:06 - Franco Bash
1:16:36 - Hon-Fu
1:22:36 - Terry Bogard
1:33:36 - wrap-up & what's next!
Compelling action, the most reduced sway-line system yet, lots of memorable stages--even if they're shared by two or three characters each, somewhat redrawn--this would probably be my second-favorite FF game, and hold down a place in my extended rotation--that Rick Strowd is pretty darn fun to play, as are a lot of the characters--this may be the smoothest Terry Bogard--but I *cannot* handle facing Billy Kane in this game. Ugh. Ughgghh he makes me cry, I hate it. Can't do it. I'll stick to FF3, where I love every single one of the characters. : P
