Welcome to my first actual solo-LP! This is Salt and Sanctuary, and it is a 2D sidescrolling actionplatformer. Genres have become pretty bloated in later years, but this is best described as 2D Dark Souls.

I'm gonna play through this from start to finish blind, I won't be doing a concurrent playthrough on my spare time, so be active and help me through if you think I'm terrible! Let's go!

Ska Studios presents Salt and Sanctuary! This game was released March 15th and features many mechanics familiar from the Souls games by From Software.

At the offset you play as a person that goes down with his/her ship when a horror from the deeps attacks and in the end overpowers the player. You wake up on the shores of an island and are immediately introduced to the various religions of this world, as well as your main goal, for now: Save the princess from the local castle.

Story is provided piecemeal throughout the game from locations, NPC's and notes found around the island, and both gameplay and mechanics feel very similar to both Dark Souls and Metroidvania games. Weapons have movesets and your skillsystem allows for choice when it comes to your preferred method of playing. Ranged and melee combat are available, as well as magic, and the game features a wide range of enemies to beat, slice or otherwise hurt with said arsenal.
