3.14's Labyrinth Overhaul - How It Changes Enchant Farming In Path of Exile Trade Leagues
A few thoughts on how the lab enchant changes will impact trade league lab farming.
TL:DW - the ability to benefit more from preparation makes preparing essential to remain competitive in the league economy.
This is being recorded BEFORE 3.14 goes live.
MAJOR overhaul of how the Lab works
- You now know what the enchant will be before you commit to a specific item.
- More agency means MORE POTENTIAL TO BENEFIT FROM PREPARATION and INCREASED COMPETITION.
- In the past I've highly recommended enchanting the Sirus helm Crown of the Inward Eye, because it is a solid all-rounder. It's no longer the right choice. This also applies to The Vertex.
- You have access to your stash in the lab end room. Your ideal helmet collection doesn't need to be in your inventory.
WATCH THE META.
Quick note on pricechecking enchants:
DO NOT rely upon poe.ninja's price tier list on enchants. This provides a price outline for 'cheap nasty' enchanted helms.
You will not be wasting premium enchants on off-meta bases - so don't sell at the price of a wasted enchant.
Boot enchants:
- You mostly won't take these but remember they are there.
- 2 enchants are rare. Conditional chaos damage and conditional elemental penetration. One of these is very very good. Other 14 enchants are comparitively common.
- Other good boot enchants: 80% conditional stun avoidance, conditional movespeed increase, conditional crit chance (the last is for elemental overload builds, it's MUCH better than it looks)
- Good boots to enchant: ilvl 86 two-toned, ilvl 86 Sorcerer Boots, Voidwalker, Replica Voidwalker, Kaom's Roots. KR needs anti-boss enchants as it is solely for Uber Elder. Voidwalker and its Replica are anti-trash, so they want "if you have killed recently". Sorc Boots are usually used on low-life critical strike based spellcasters, they generally want conditional anti-stun, attack/cast speed or movespeed.
- Niche: Stack dodge enchants and dodge boots
- Rare enchants are each 1 in 58. Others are all 4 times more common.
- Throw enchanted boots into a 1ex tab if the item would be under 10c without the enchant, 2ex if the base is 10c-1ex, and base price + 1.5ex if it's an expensive item.
Quick note on glove enchants:
- Just enchant your own gloves. Don't enchant gloves to sell.
HELMS
- Your mainstay
- Helm enchants are not created equal.
- Most skills have one generally considered 'best' enchant.
- Your goal is to get the 'best' enchant for a meta skill onto a compatible helmet for that skill. You don't want +2 Power Siphon projectiles on Indigon, you want it on a helm that someone playing Power Siphon wants to use.
- Remember though, a large % of players do play offmeta stuff.
- Backup is to get the second best enchant for a meta skill, or the best enchant for an offmeta skill onto an appropriate helm.
- When you have a premium enchant offered to you, your procedure should be to TAKE THREE MINUTES to reserach before deciding what to enchant.
- Don't roll on influence items. Add influence LATER, to fit the enchant.
- My suggested bag of helmets to carry, note: you will NOT be able to afford all of these early on; the Sirus helm comes in handy here as a fillin.
