#327 Capcom vs. SNK 2 \\ Dreamcast \\ A custom groove combining my fave parts of N, K, and C!
Messing about in Arcade Mode and Groove Edit Mode in Capcom vs. SNK 2 on Dreamcast!
0:00 - start
0:50 - Arcade Mode w/...Todoh, Sakura, Blanka (N) 1cc!
23:30 - Training Mode - comparing movement in N, C grooves
29:25 - Yamazaki, Orochi Iori, Eagle (N)
49:41 - Groove Edit Mode - making a custom groove!
57:01 - Yamazaki, Sagat, Gouki (Akuma) (EX1)
1:15:21 - Groove Edit Mode - tweak (swap Dash for Run)
1:16:47 - Yun, Joe, Dan (EX1)
1:32:54 - wrap-up & what's next!
1:37:48 - testing [?] team select & reset; also O.Iori, Sagat, King
1:41:42 - wrap!
Blanka is ridiculously strong! It didn't even matter how bad I was with Todoh or Sakura (really horrible as Sakura :o), Blanka would dig us out of any hole, even if just by the skin of his teeth! :[]
That was in the KOF-style N-Groove, which I thought I would stick with, but I was struggling with supers so badly that, after seeing the CPU in Rage mode in K-Groove, I thought heck I should just make a custom groove with the movement options of N and the Rage of K! So I did! Plus I had more than enough points left to give my custom groove Chain Combos. : D
Something was still bugging me though and eventually I realized that I was just too used to Dash rather than Run, so I switched it to Capcom-style Dash. Now it's perfect! 6_6
Yamazaki is fun, not really as fantastically entertaining as he is in KOF '98 though. ;^)
I don't know if I really want to play Dan anymore. That would bring my don't-wanna-play list to:
Chun-Li
Dan
Dhalsim
Hibiki
Waggling the stick randomly around the character select grid to generate a team, like I do in MvC2, doesn't work here because the selector moves slower, and doesn't wrap at the edges of the grid. I should probably just make myself a team-generating script like I have for other games, like CvSP, but ehhh maybe I'll take one more stab at just using the [?] button. ; ) It actually worked really well in this session, unlike the last one where it kept giving me characters I didn't want to play. : P Well we'll see how it goes next time.
