(34:51.7) Pinballvania (PICO-8) NG speedrun
2Here's a speedrun of a really neat game on the Pico-8 by GuerraGames, my favorite game on the platform so far. High speed action while rotating a field to move a ball around and collect orbs to open exits is basically the game, but if you want to go fast, there's so much more to it than what I managed here.
I timed the run using IGT, as I think it's more reliable by giving you instantaneous feedback on how fast you are, and does not require retiming. There's only one problem with it, and that is if you are unlucky enough to softlock on level 8, 17, or any one that has a ring of grey pegs you can't exactly bounce off from, I haven't worked out what to do in that scenario, but you can reset cart to play the level again.
Barely got sub-35 minutes with a few decent timeswings on the boss levels, though I don't see a limit to this game, not even if getting sub-30 is eventually reached.
My first playthrough of this game was 51 minutes 11 seconds, figuring out blindly that you can increase gravity by pressing down after getting seemingly trapped in level 12.
Played on a Windows exe of Pico-8, v0.0.12c (Note the "Exit to Splore" option when I pause to erase NG+ progress).
