★ [ 3.7 ] CI Vortex Occultist (10k ES) (Respectable Damage)

This video is a quick summary of my CI Occultist Vortex build for 3.7. Yes, Occultists got nerfed hard. First, their starting ES nodes were nerfed. Their ascendancy lost some ES. Wicked Ward is now available to all. The final piece of the nerf was that abyss jewels and dense fossils got the nerf bat, too.
Regardless of ALL of that, Vortex still feels pretty good with respectable damage on a multimodded wand that admittedly is not the best it can be. It has about 400k Shaper DPS. It can go into even more damage with a spider craft, and although would lose a chunk of ES could go closer to 1mil shaper DPS by converting over to LL with shavronne's wrap, however I decided to just stick with CI because of how comfortable it felt.
This is my personal take on Vortex. The socketted spell cast craft on the wand is just a meta choice for vortex and it works pretty well. I also opted for shield charge over phase run simply because of my play style. Phase run would likely be better.

The biggest thing with this build for this league is it did get a nerf. Witch ascendance got nerfed all together, which was sad. (well, minus necro who got a nice indirect buff to the phantasm build's damage due to all the melee / phys buffs -- but even then got a nerf due to the abyss jewel nerf).
