NVIDIA’s latest Game Ready Driver, version five hundred eighty point ninety-seven, delivers a mixed bag of updates, introducing support for new titles and addressing some long-standing issues while leaving a number of other critical problems unresolved. This driver provides optimal gaming experiences for new games leveraging DLSS four technology, specifically Senua’s Saga: Hellblade Two Enhanced and Grand Theft Auto Five Enhanced. For GeForce RTX fifty Series and RTX forty Series graphics card owners, Grand Theft Auto Five Enhanced now benefits from both Multi Frame Generation and standard DLSS Frame Generation. Furthermore, this update brings welcome fixes for two prominent bugs: the flickering or "underflow" issue on the Samsung fifty-seven-inch Odyssey Neo G Nine monitor when idle, and a problem causing certain notebook displays to appear dim when an external HDR monitor is connected with the display mode set to "NVIDIA GPU only."

However, several significant issues continue to plague users. The persistent Cyberpunk two thousand seventy-seven Photo Mode crash when using path tracing, an issue noted for six months, remains unfixed and is exacerbated by game updates that disable Ray Reconstruction in Photo Mode for fifty-series GPUs. Counter-Strike Two still exhibits text distortion at lower resolutions, and serious freezing problems in Adobe Premiere Pro during hardware encoding exports persist for some configurations, forcing users to revert to older Studio Drivers. Additionally, Marvel Rivals performance issues, introduced with the previous five hundred eighty point eighty-eight driver, are reportedly not addressed, and the NVIDIA App's DLSS replacement for Fortnite has stopped functioning since late July, potentially due to Epic Games blocking such overrides.

Other frustrating, unaddressed problems include the reappearance of an HDR bug with Shadowplay, which causes recordings to appear oversaturated when using the RTX HDR filter, and game filters that continue to reset their sliders upon game launch. Beyond specific titles, a general monitor black screen or flicker bug persists for some users, occasionally leading to hard system restarts, especially when tabbing out of games. Furthermore, RTX fifty eighty and fifty ninety laptop GPUs are still not consistently drawing their full one hundred seventy-five watts, impacting expected performance. Issues like fatal error crashes and sky flickering with frame generation in Clair Obscur: Expedition thirty-three, and a "vertex explosion" bug in Unreal Engine five games like Mafia Old Country and Oblivion, also remain unresolved.

For users experiencing problems, it's worth noting that "Open Issues" in driver release notes indicate NVIDIA is aware but hasn't yet deployed a fix. NVIDIA encourages users to submit direct feedback, as a higher volume of reports can elevate a bug’s priority. Common troubleshooting steps include performing a clean driver installation using Display Driver Uninstaller, and adjusting the "Power Management Mode" in the NVIDIA Control Panel to "Prefer Maximum Performance." While this driver delivers some crucial enhancements and fixes, it underscores the ongoing challenge of achieving universal stability across diverse hardware and software ecosystems, advising caution and a slight delay before updating to observe widespread user experiences.
