A review/critique/analysis of Elex, comparing and contrasting it with other open-world action-adventure RPGs Skyrim and The Witcher 3. With Elex 2 just on the horizon, I wanted to take a closer look at the first game and shine a spotlight on some of its more notable design features for which I feel it doesn't get enough credit, in hopes of maybe drumming up interest in Elex 2 and the series in general. While not a perfect game, Elex gets a lot of important things right, I feel, which makes it a much more compelling and enjoyable experience for me than other, similar games like Skyrim and The Witcher 3.

This video is designed to be as spoiler-free as possible for all games (I won't be ruining any major story elements or plot twists or going into detail examining the main quest-line for each game, in other words), but I will be showing outcomes to certain individual side quests and specific situations in order to showcase how the games treat their mechanics and subject matter. I consider these to be minor and inconsequential to one's enjoyment of the games, and thus should not have any adverse effect on the experience should you choose to watch this video and then play any of the three games for the first time thereafter.
