Released in March 2001, Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel is a tactical RPG, hence the name. Tactics wasn’t as deep as Fallout or Fallout 2, emphasizing combat over general player choice. Despite that change, it was still a well received game at the time. Some Fallout fans may claim to know everything there is to know about Fallout Tactics, but there are things that even they don’t know. That’s why i’m here. This is… 5 Things You Didn’t Know About Fallout Tactics.

5 Things You Didn’t Know About Fallout Tactics (in text form)

5. There’s a big gun class weapon in Fallout Tactics called Chauchat. The weapon is found in a cave system beneath Junction City. The gun weighs nothing and cannot be fired, although it can be equipped. The Chauchat is likely a reference to a World War 1 light machine gun used by French and American soldiers. Due to the design of the magazine, it was very difficult to keep dirt out of the moving parts of the rifle, leading to it being incredible unreliable.

4. During the Rock Falls mission, the raider bosses are called "Bo", "Daisy", "Jesse" and "Luke". Those are the names of the Duke family members in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard.

3. There’s a town in Fallout Tactics called Springfield. This town seems to be a reference to the town of Springfield from The Simpsons. Both towns have the same name, have cooling towers for a nuclear power plant, similar town statues, a large donut sign, and "Joe's Tavern", referencing Moe's Tavern.

2. There is a cut perk from Fallout Tactics called Twitch Gamer. The perk couldn’t be obtained by leveling up. It could only be obtained by playing a mini game on your pipboy, which was also cut from the game. When a twitch appeared above the head of the player, the perk would let the player perform an action for free, costing 0 AP points.

1. At one point, a sequel to Fallout Tactics was being developed. It was going to take place in Florida and parts of South Eastern United States. The main plot of the game would have been the player working to defeat what is essentially a man eating reptile plant, monster that was created by a faulty, irritated GECK. The plot would have been very similar to the 1990 DOS game Fountain of Dreams.
