Despite being one of the most popular RPGs of all time, Skyrim had a considerable amount of content cut from the game. Some things were small, while others would have changed the game completely. This is… 7 Things That Were Cut From Skyrim.

7 Things That Were Cut From Skyrim (in text form)
7. The biggest thing cut from Skyrim is the Windhelm Pit, a fighting pit located in Windhelm. There’s actually a lot of stuff that was left in the game, like scripts, maps, and NPC’s. The cut quests and dialogue suggest that you would be jailed and forced to fight against a Dark Brotherhood member, who you actually fight in a Dwemer ruin.
6. Early on in Skyrim, you were going to be able to break up with your spouse and actually divorce them. Why this feature was removed is a mystery, but there are a few things relating to it left in the game, including some quest ID’s and names. The most interesting things left in the game are some audio files that dialogue that various NPC’s would use when greeting you after you divorce them. There are 3 categories for the files, a general greeting, an insult response to something you’d say, and a response to you asking you to re-marry them. Here are one of each.
5. While the Windhelm Pit may be the biggest single thing cut from the game, there are tons of files leftover that suggest that the Civil War for Skyrim was going to be much more in depth. Based on what’s left in the game, it seems like you were going to be able to take over more than just two holds, which would have been taken over by completing up to twelve radiant quests. You would also be able to choose which hold you wanted to attack next, and would have to wait for an enemy counterattack. It looks like the developers ran out of time and just sort of threw together the Civil War we got, which is why it seems like it’s on such a small scale for something that’s supposed to be a battle for all of Skyrim.
4. Because being a sneaky archer isn’t powerful enough, Skyrim originally had another Archer perk called “Trick Shot”. It would be available if you had at least 80 in Archery and had the Quick Shot perk. It would give you a 25% chance of disarming an enemy when hit. If you enter “Addperk 105f1a” into the console, you can use the perk in-game. @roughly 42
3. On a similar note to the last one, Skyrim had a conjuration spell that was cut from the game. It was called Conjure Dragon Priest and would allow you to summon a Dragon Priest for 60 seconds. The spell had three additional levels to it, extending the duration to 120 seconds, then 240 seconds, and finally spawning two Dragon Priests when used. You can obtain it by using “player.addspell 0010fc16” in the console.
2. In Skyrim, you can do a quest to become Boethiah’s champion. There was, however, a second quest that was cut from the game called “Boethiah Bidding”. In it, You would have had to assassinate the Jarl of Solitude, Elisif the Fair, using stealth, deceit and guile.
1. There are some strings that can be used in the console that would let you kill children. The fascinating thing is that they make noises when killed, they don’t just use the same noises as adults. Going even further, if you kill Braith, when you are in Whiterun Lars Battle-Born will run up to you, thank you for killing you her, and give you 50 gold. These lines are actually fully voiced, suggesting that you were originally going to be able to kill children in the game. It was likely removed to avoid the backlash from the media from allowing people to kill children.
