#70 - The Dream Project — Ending #3 || Chrono Trigger DS (100%)
Part 70 of my 100% playthrough of Chrono Trigger on the Nintendo DS.
When you start a New Game+ in Chrono Trigger, a new feature opens up very soon in the story. The right telepod at the Millenial Fair is now able to warp you directly to Lavos, allowing instant-access to the final boss at almost any point in the game. Depending on when you decide to fight Lavos, you can get 10 completely new short endings, which are often comical.
This video presents the first of these endings. There's two ways to trigger this one. You can either use the right telepod before going to 600AD for the first time (meaning you'll fight Lavos with only Marle and Crono) or you can defeat Lavos when you first meet it at the Ocean Palace (meaning you'll fight Lavos' first phase with a double attack speed buff active on it). I decided to do the first option here. Since this fight against Lavos is a bit more intense with only two characters, I also included that in the video.
For those interested, here are the equipment on my characters for the boss fight:
—— Crono (lv66) ——
– Weapon: Dreamseeker (240 ATK, Crit. Rate 90%)
– Head: Master's Crown (40 DEF, DMG Boost, Status Immunity)
– Body: Saurian Leathers (88 DEF, SPD +3, STR +3)
– Accessory: Wrath Band (Counter Rate 80%)
—— Marle (lv64) ——
– Weapon: Venus Bow (777 DMG on every hit)
– Head: Angel's Tiara (36 DEF, Auto-Haste, Status Immunity)
– Body: Regal Gown (90 DEF, Auto-Protect, Auto-Barrier)
