Like A Rogue, by Rogue.Games

Solely based on immersion, this looks and feels like something that would make for an amazing roguelike. However, as much as it bothers me to say it bluntly, there's very little here that actually constitutes a roguelike! What throws things off entirely is that the levels are crafted, so there's nothing more interesting about a second playthrough. However, as I've come across similar projects before, this fits the category of "tech demo" with the prospects of being something that may become a roguelike, and a really cool one at that.

Always consider that "variety" is a heavy if not vital inspiration for this genre. There should be several, if not many, if not limitless ways to achieve victory: character classes, skill trees, a menagerie of items, enemies with special abilities (just to name a few examples) can find their way into giving the player a number of ways to play the game. I really do like the level of immersion this game achieves, but without some roguelike-ness I have literally no reason to come back to it. (Well, except to actually finish it.)
