Fida'i, by Pat Wilson

Another Middle Eastern-themed game (though I'd like to think there's a less informal term) and once again this developer pulls through with a fun roguelike. I do hope that the Shift+direction case is a bug because the lack of turn-without-move is extremely noticeable and puts the difficulty towards the edge of unfair.

This in mind, the concept (bite-sized assassination missions) is excellently handled, forcing plenty of stealth and practically mandating the use of items to be successful. If you look at Pat's games over the last few years, they always share the same elements, but the gameplay itself is always different, and I really respect that. On its own Fida'i stands out as enjoyable and novel, and in the series it's another interlocking piece to this tapestry of great roguelikes.
