Succession, by Adam Perry

MageGuild! That's the name of the game I couldn't remember. And that's a lot of what this game reminds me of: in aesthetics, in theming, and in variety. MageGuild had a lot "more", to be fair: five different elements with zillions of combinations when it came to what could be done with them. This game was made in seven days, though, so it gets some slack on not being filled to the brim with content, and I think there's more than enough here for the average player to be occupied for some time.

This game also reminds me a little of an entry from last year called Possession, where you switch bodies with an active enemy rather than entering a copy after death. The specialty here is that we also have a rather interesting food mechanic, completely different from hunger, since this is about temporarily gaining the powers of your enemies. I really find the balance good, and I think it's more than possible to get far in this game on the first try, but it would also prove interesting to try and beat it with every monster type. I'd call this 7DRL quite the success!
