I guess this is a sea combat simulator! There's enough depth to make it interesting to figure out, and it was challenging enough that I didn't figure out how to correctly sink a ship before I was sunk myself in three or four tries. But man, I'm struggling to see it as a roguelike: I'm not biasing it based on graphics, because imagine this game if it were ASCII turn-based. What it lacks is variety and, to a lesser extent, progression (although maybe you can collect extra crewmen, I can't say for sure) such that this game is "evidently solvable", meaning you could write a step-by-step to win with no conditionals except with regards to finding a combat partner. I think a few small changes, like starting at a dock where you can customize your ship and crewmen (and come back for more after gaining treasure), or dealing with different ships that are easier or harder to handle, would cinch this as a roguelike.

I genuinely enjoy the gameplay, but I need a reason to not reset after finally defeating a ship. There could be more, I honestly didn't kill a single ship, but it's completely unapparent and at the very least not inviting a roguelike theme from the get-go. Still, definitely worth your time trying to handle this unwieldy vessel!
