8-Eyes – WedNESday – GreenGimmick Gaming
In 1983, the Nintendo Company would release their Family Computer system known as the Famicom in Japan. Two years later, in 1985, the system would be released in the U.S. as the Nintendo Entertainment System and would soon gain worldwide recognition. This little 8-bit third-generation video game system would help revitalize the struggling industry and medium of video games. Boasting a library of over 700 official titles and dozens of unlicensed and unofficial games over its nearly 20-year lifespan, in this series we look to try as many of these games as possible, bring more attention to these title and celebrating the system that inspired and entertained so many over the years. On this episode of WedNESday, we look at 8 Eyes, an action game developed by Thinking Rabbit and published by SETA in 1988, but released the in U.S. in 1990 and published by Texan. Set in set in a post-apocalyptic future, we play as Orin the Falconer and his falcon Cutrus as they travel the world to collect 8 jewels of power that can be harnessed to rebuild civilization.
