Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: DragonStrike – WedNESday – GreenGimmick Gaming
In 1983, the Nintendo Company would release their Family Computer system known as the Famicom in Japan. Two years later, in 1985, the system would be released in the U.S. as the Nintendo Entertainment System and would soon gain worldwide recognition. This little 8-bit third-generation video game system would help revitalize the struggling industry and medium of video games. Boasting a library of over 700 official titles and dozens of unlicensed and unofficial games over its nearly 20-year lifespan, in this series we look to try as many of these games as possible, bring more attention to these title and celebrating the system that inspired and entertained so many over the years.
On this episode of WedNESday we look at the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons game, DragonStrike. Originally released on systems such as Amiga and Commadore 64 in 1990 and was more of a flight simulator action game, DragonStrike for the NES would be release in 1992 and is a vertical shooter action game. DragonStrike was developed by Westwood Associates and published by Pony Canyon.
