Something it took me far too long to learn: Glassmaking is your key to blue experience. Sand is free, outside of the energy to gather it, water is the same. Yes, studying the various body parts and grave accessories will give you massive boosts, but that's a one time boost for each item. Once you find the quarry for unlimited coal, have a furnace capable of making glass(Furnace II), and have opened the church, unlock the conical flasks and just load up a furnace making glass, and then use the glass to make the flasks, and you'll keep coming back to your furnace to see a bunch of flasks that you'll need later and piles of blue XP.
