A Critical Thought on Grinding
Today's Critical Thought is about the dreaded act of grinding. I discussed when a game becomes a grind and how some developers encourage it through certain mechanics and systems.
I also talked about how to mitigate grinding, such as in Guild Wars 2. Grinding should never be encouraged, and it requires a careful eye towards game design to minimize it.
