A Critical Thought on False Choices
Not even having a migraine stopped me from talking today. For today's Critical Thought, I went over the topic of false choices in game design. A false choice is when something is either never good or too good, and upsets the game's balance.
Understanding this concept will help you when it comes to balancing options in games. I talked about the struggle Payday 2 has had in the past and some suggestions to avoid both extremes.
