A Deckbuilder Monster Taming Roguelite | Dragon Eclipse demo
Hello everyone! The demos from this Steam Next Festival keep coming. This is Dragon Eclipse, and at first look you might think "just another deckbuilder roguelite and just another monster taming game", but it is not. There is quite a nice variety of fresh mechanics that are actually hard to swallow when you start playing. I honestly think the tutorial should be explained with a battle simulation, instead of throwing a lot of text at you and then try to remember. For me it felt more like Across The Obelisk in monster taming version. Also, during a run you don't really capture more to use (I mean, apparently you do, but for the meta-progression, not to actually use another one during the battle), but you level them up and evolve them. By the middle of the run I was really enjoying the whole gameplay and even when it was a full satisfying experience, I wanted to keep playing. I would explain about how the game works here, but it's better if you watch or play it, because it would take me an eternity.
