Using Tetris Pieces In A Tower Defense Roguelike | Emberward demo
8Hello everyone! More demos from the latest Steam Next Fest. This is Emberward, a tower defense roguelite, with some... deckbuilding mechanics? maybe? This game is more for tower defense fans than for roguelike fans. You start with some money, you have a core you have to defend and some places where enemies can spawn. Every turn you get cards that look like tetris pieces and you have to use them to build a maze to distract enemies while you can also build turrets, cannons, flamethrowers and so on with your money. You have the classic relics system, the tougher corrupted fights and the path you choose as in plenty of roguelikes. Sadly, I don't know if I felt weak or if the enemies felt too strong, but I was slowly feeling overwhelmed... Maybe the lack of pieces you start with? The lack of money for self-defense? Not sure, but you check it out.
