As part of the ongoing Creating a Game Entirely on an iPad series ( http://www.gamefromscratch.com/page/GameFromScratchcoms-Guide-to-Creating-a-Game-on-an-iPad.aspx ) this video looks at using iDraw, a vector graphics based application available for iPad and OS/X.

This video looks in depth at how you use the tools in iDraw to create vector game art. In the first half of the video I recreate a tutorial for InkScape ( http://2dgameartforprogrammers.blogspot.ca/2014/09/treasure-not-found-but-made.html ), showing how the same thing is done in iDraw. This tutorial shows how to create a simple treasure chest and will show you the basics of how vector graphics works. The second half of the video runs through the various features of iDraw such as snapping, text editing, exporting, shape libraries, etc.

The next post will cover using vector graphics in Lua code in Codea and look at the performance ramifications.
