Zephix is a live Linux operating system based on the stable branch of Debian. It runs entirely from removable media without touching any files stored on the user's system disk.
Zephix's goal is to provide a free modular operating system that users can carry with them and use wherever there is a laptop or desktop system available.
In addition to the main ISO image, the development team also provides several modules that can be added to the live image to extend its usability.
The standard ISO image comes without any graphical desktop, but a “desktop” module (with LXQt) is available separately, along with a “firmware” module and several popular application modules.
Now Zephix 5 (Zephix-5R-20220430-x86_64) has been released.
What's New in Zephix 5
The new Zephix 5 reintroduces the LXQt desktop and firmware modules directly into the live system and announces a “to RAM” boot option.
In this update the Syslinux and GRUB boot logos have been updated to more reflect the Zephix theme, and as said before, the 'to RAM' boot option - Zephix can now be loaded fully into memory (if enough RAM is available) and has also been changed the default console font.
Zephix 5 included the desktop and firmware modules by default in the ISO image to make it more usable, and this decision was made thanks to feedback received from many users.
